But Hugh Bladon, of the Association of British Drivers pressure group, says the new cameras still cause sudden braking by panicked drivers, but also now cause long stretches of crawling traffic.
"People see a camera and immediately put their foot on the brakes," he says. "It doesn't lead to good driving. You get people driving along and their eyes are glued to the speedometer rather than to the road.
"In towns people who should be looking for children between the [parked] cars will be looking at their speedometers."

//Unlike a number of folks on here douglas, I can remember how to read and how to Google. //
I daresay you could google the answer to your question and get the answer in the majority of cases
However it is always interesting to read something on here that you didn't know , that you didn't know

Here we have a gentleman who, by his own admission, is an awful driver, he doesn't know the law regarding speed limits in this country, he relies on his car for his job and doesn't have the wit to put his hand in his pocket and buy a Highway Code. He also has ,previously, displayed contempt for the police on several occasions on this site. "Plod" ,"Stupid white police"etc. Hope due to his ignorance in road safety matters he reigns in his contempt if stopped by Morriston's finest for any traffic infringements he may "Unwittingly" commit!!! God forbid, due to his apparent disinterest in road safety, he kills someone who would just say he is "not infallible"
NB. Morriston is South Wales Constabulary Traffic Dept H.Q. a place that best be avoided by our errant motorist.

My word. Just read that. No end to this man's vocabulary. Haven't heard him use the word PIG yet. It was an acronym for Pride Integrity Guts.

Not all dual carriageways have a speed limit of 70. There is one in N Ireland that catches a lot of people, they see a dual carriageway ahead sign and when they reach it, accelerate, only to be stopped further on by a policeman who points out that the speed limit is 40 and this is prominently displayed. I was stopped but being a visitor, let off with a warning " better to observe than assume"
