My middle sis had loaded me with two Edwardian bedroom chairs to take back to her older sis down here - made getting two golf bags out of the car interesting. Anyway, we were there in the park, knackered after playing Gullane 2 in a 30mph wind, gusting 50, and I took the chairs out to load the bags in so we changed then and there, using them to sit down.
These Americans rock up - 'there's a club house there, you know?'
I went for them, 'Good God, who uses a club house? We carry these chairs from course to course and change in the car park. Much more convenient...." So out came the cameras of us two in our cords, sweaters, flat-caps (rarely see that on a US course) parked on these chairs.
The laugh was it repeated itself with another group of Yanks next day when we played The Glen at North Berwick....so this has to become 'the tradition.'
I need to be off, so a good day to all.
