I have bought a garden chair from EBay for £94.95 when it came this morning it is a Robert Dyas product. Have looked on their web site and the same chair is selling for £74.95 with free postage.

I have emailed the seller conveying this information. Do you think they are doing anything wrong in selling a product at a higher price from a well known shop.?

Were they a private seller or a business seller.

Is the price on the Robert Dyas site a sale price?
No.

You have a choice not to buy it and find it cheaper elsewhere.

Business seller. Original price.

Ummmm I didn't know it was a Robert Dyas product, otherwise I would have checked their website out.

Bearing in mind that most branded goods on EBay are seconds.
They offered it at a price that you accepted, nothing wrong.

Update: they have just emailed me back and have refunded the difference.

The seller can offer for sale at whatever price he likes. I once saw a jacket I liked on ebay. I checked out the make and found quite a lot cheaper from the manufacturers own website so bought it from them. It is up to the buyer to check out the options and find it cheaper if they can.
You are very lucky Fusion. What a kind seller. Give them good feedback!
A lot of people pay over the odds on ebay.

Personally I would prefer somewhere that I can take it back if there are problems.

grasscarp, I did check the item out on EBay and a lot of other business sellers were selling for a lot more, but my point was I didn't know it was a Robert Dyas product because otherwise I would have gone to their website.

I always leave good feedback.
Glad you leave good feedback.

I get so peed off with people leaving bad feedback for the smallest little things. It's like only really grumpy people leave feedback.

One time I went to book into a hotel and someone gave it just 1 star...because....there was a loose roof tile!!!

Last time we went abroad the hotel got bad reviews because it was in a residential area! The hotel was perfect. People want to pay 1* prices and receive 5* treatment.
Question Author
lol lol I wonder how they knew there was a loose roof tile. It's not on my list of priorities to get a ladder and check the roof whilst unpacking my suitcase.

Did they do anything wrong?
Morally, I would say yes....but they rectified this by refunding the difference and they deserve good feedback for it.

I never buy anything from Ebay unless I have done my research first.

I buy loads from EBay Mrs O. perhaps I should look more closely in future.

I've just noticed on EBay, the seller I purchased my chair from has put the price up to £99.99 on the two remaining he has for sale.
Fusion - the cheek of the seller!

If I see something on Ebay I am thinking about buying, I always check other sites first.
I am after buying an item which costs £16 in the shops. I found the item on Ebay for £12 this morning. I then had a hunt around and found the same item on Amazon (new) for £8.
That's a lot for a pair of comedy dracula teef, Mrs O ...
I've bought 1565 items (small) from eBay since 2005 and only once found it necessary to give a neg. feedback.
