Facebook - Eeek!
46 Answers
I joined Facebook because there is a history group for my childhood village and I wanted to join which I did. I`m not really interested in doing the whole 'friends' thing. I have just received a friend request (funilly enough, it`s from someone who told my mum that he always had a crush on me). Anyway, do I accept and start the whole 'friends' thing or ignore/decline or whatever it is you do and risk insulting him?

Good to hear that. I've been on the internet since the days of "bulletin boards" and "special interest groups" and FB is much the same, except with pictures. Someone you've known in the past and with whom you share a special interest seems a very good basis for friending them. Since you've not been active in that regard, your homepage (newsfeed) will be blank.
In terms of obviating all the driving around to interact with old friends, it is probably saving lots of expense on fuel consumption and, more trivially, phone bills. (Okay, you've already paid for your broadband, you're just getting more out of having it).
