Alec Salmond said two days ago that he will be writing the Labour Manifesto and now Red Len has said he 'Owns Labour'.

[i] He joked that he would write the budget if their is an SNP/Labour Coalition Government.
McCluskey has not said Unite 'Owns Labour'.

Obviously I made a mistake with budget (although I wouldn't be surprised if he had a big input to the manifesto as well) but who believes he was joking. As for pulling Labour strings McClusky has a huge hold over Miliband, having put him there and bankrolling him.
Back to the 1970s then. Red Robbo, Scargill etc - they did a lot for the workers didn't they?
