I used Pickfords several times..they packed everything...but we weren't paying...job move and on expenses...

Moved twice in the last 5 years, local man with a big van, £20 per hour £10 per hour extra if mate needed. I was the mate and did the job, load and unload for about £80. Don't touch Pickfords, use local business.

But make sure they've got accidental,damage and goods-in-transit insurance!

Pickfords are the bees knees but cost the absolute earth.We've used them in the past but we never had to pay.It was on expenses.
Get a local firm,get quotes , and ask if they supply boxes .
Shouldn't be too dear if you're only moving locally .Our last move cost us 800 quid to move from London to Norfolk and they supplied boxes and packed everything and it all arrived in one piece :)

Beds, you can do this job you providing you are fit enough, the cost of a Luton van is not that expensive for the day, providing your Item's are well packed / Bubble Wrapped / & placed TIGHT within the van you should have no problems, one tip, make sure the driver is aware depending on your travel location, look out for over hanging Branches, Low Bridges / Over hang near the house + the Gate ( If any ) Width, you need to plan the loading & making sure you have not empty spaces within reason.
