I downloaded a file from limewire on my other computer ( its an image ) and when i try to view it it says " image not available " . Now i want to delete it, but when i right click, the option for delete is not there. Ive tried deleting the folder it is in and i get the message that the file does not exist. Ive done an adaware scan, norton scan and a registry cleanup and they found nothing. Whats going on ?

you could press ctrl and d when you have clicked on it.

or drag it to the bottom of the task bar and then drag it into the recycle bin.

I had a similar problem once. The delete option came up, but it just would not delete, and I got a pit panicky in case it was some sort of Trojan or virus (even though nothing was detected as such). I could move it though, so I moved it to a floppy and just chucked the floppy away.

The only other thing I can suggest is that you restore back to a time before you downloaded it.

the file cannot be moved and ctrl d does not work. nor does system restore. as far as the system restore goes, this is not the first time ive seen system restore not work. not just on any of my computers but friends and family too. it says your system cannot be restored to 00/00/0000, no changes have been made.

it does not actually say 00/00/0000. its just an example

do you run anti virus ? if so right-click and select scan with (your anti-virus).

If you do not run anti-virus(tut tut) dl one immediately.I use AVG free by grisoft and find it to be excellent.Install it and run it,if the file is a virus then it will find it and any others on your machine and remove it.

oops,my bad !?

just read the end of your message - soz !

one other thought - is the file 100% dl'ed ? It may not be finished yet hence image not available.

I recommended Unlocker to someone else on AB today - and no, I don't work for them (it's free anyway). It's unlocked and made it possivle to delete some files I was having problems with.
Unlocker worked a treat thanks!
