Ascots (a kind of tie)

and

TAWS (swat backwards) and Taws is a kind of Scottish strap
I must say Ithought that 25d was confusing because originally I had thought that TAWS had been raised and that is was swat..... luckily I kept it in mind but didn't fill it in because it is swat that is raised and the answer is TAWS.... not a v g clue from the compiler, altho' I suppose we have to be vigilant...
