What does pouroff mean in 'Burro Mesa Pouroff'?

In Spanish, a 'burro' is a donkey and a 'mesa' is a flat-topped hill with steep sides. There are lots of these in south-west USA. Burro Mesa is, presumably, the name of an actual such hill, perhaps so-called because of its shape. The 'pour-off' - as I explained earlier in a typical British domestic situation - is either the water itself or the channel(s) by which water falls from the top of this type of hill into the streams/rivers (ie the drainage) found at the bottom of the hill.
