the usual shy Tories, jim? I believe their support is often underestimated (but perhaps the results are adjusted to take this into consideration).

Conceivably also Ukip flirters returning to the fold, though this would need some number-crunching to demonstrate.
Paisley: Alexander loses seat. Elegant hate rant by triumphalist SNP winner.
Yes I was aware of the shy tories thing that might provide a late swing but this is far larger than even that. On current trends you might even say that it's pessimistic for the Conservatives to give them only 316 seats.
Murphy gone, this is mental up here
I'd noticed.

One thing worth pointing out to the Tories so far. They are not gaining any votes at all nationally. If they do well in this election it is because there is no longer any coherent opposition. Labour have to address that; the Lib Dems... well, I don't know what they do now, but I would have hoped that maybe the Conservatives might have showed a little loyalty to their partners in government. Thus far they seem to be stabbing them in the front.
A very confused comment on what was always a marriage of convenience.
Haven't both Eton boys gained by it? Where do you see the moral issue?Delighted to see, by the way, that at least one youngster interested in the democratic process is still following the results.
There's no moral issue really. It just seems a bit of a shame. One would have thought that the Conservatives would be at least a little grateful for the Lib Dems' role in Coalition. All of that "we came together" stuff. Not much togetherness being shown.

But the Lib Dems were always going to suffer tonight, even if the Conservatives tried to keep them afloat, so it's really a minor point.
