Is Dave Worth Saving?

Senor Tories, including George Osborne, have began planning a 'Save Dave' campaign, in the event that he loses the General Election. This is clearly an anti-Boris strategy. It is widely believed that Johnson is standing as an MP again to be in position to take over as leader of the Conservative Party if the Conservatives fail to win a second General Election.

If Cameron does fail to win the election, why is he worth saving? If a second election takes place, wouldn't a new leader be an electorial asset?

Jackdaw33....I agree...Ted was dreadful. Intellectually he couldn't come match Harold's superior intellect. Ted talked to everybody as he would have done to a footman, or junior groom. Even Dame Edith Evans thought he sounded peculiar !

Heath never forgave Thatcher for defeating him. It was described as 'the longest sulk in history'. Home happily served as Foreign Secretary under Heath, but when Thatcher offered him the same position he churlishly refused, not wanting to play second fiddle to her. His treatment of Enoch Powell was equally reprehensible, but Powell had his revenge as he single-handedly destroyed Heath's chance of re-election, which at the time was a given.

By the way, should the scenario in the OP come to pass, I think you will find Theresa May as something of an obstacle to Boris inheriting the crown.

To answer the OP - no. I can't think of anyone who would make a decent leader, Tory or Labour. Hope to be able to register to vote in this election as I regard it as a duty, but it's a puzzler.
