A quick question about words like Realize and Civilize are the Z's still in use or has S taken over and it should be Civilise and Realise, just curious thanks

We use S in the UK
English is, and always has been 'S' the Americans use the 'Z' (that's my take for what it's worth)
Oxford English Dictionary has them listed with the 'Z' as in Civilize (or Civilise)and Realize (or Realise)

Thanks, my Collins dictionary uses the Z, but normally see S being used, just wondered, thank again - Jean
