Ipad

I have an original iPad which I think is nearing the end of its natural life.

When I replace it, should I go for an iPad or an iPad mini?

Comments and experiences would be greatly appreciated.

The iPad Air 2 is the best, but not as compact as the mini, though.

Well "it depends" lol. I loved my ipad but found it difficult to take everywhere with me so I didn't get as much use out of it as I might have. When I upgraded I went for the mini and I love it. I won't go back to the full sized ipad. My friend on the other hand, looked at the mini but found the screen too small. She mainly uses her ipad at home, and if she does take it to work, she carries a work sized bag that the larger ipad fits into. I would say to you go to the shop and have a play and also think about what you want to use the ipad for.

Why an ipad? They are overpriced. What about a Samsung tablet?

I'm in the same position and looked up the link from Wolfgang, but what does Wi-Fi with cellular mean?

Jenny, I believe it means that you can use it as a telephone too.

I LOVE my iPad and as for that or an Android tablet, IMHO I wouldn't touch anything but the iPad (even if it is a bit pricey) because with an Android you still have to be concerned about virus problems which as far as I've experienced, doesn't happen with the iPad.

As for the choice, I love my iPad Air, it's much easier to carry around than the older version but it really comes down to choice of the size of screen that suits you. As suggested earlier, go to the shop and have a play, you should then be able to make an informed choice. I always buy things from John Lewis because of the free warranty and I think the iPads now come with three years, brilliant. Hope you find what suits you best Garador.

NO! you can't use an ipad as a telephone. The cellular bit means that you can access the internet and emails when you are not connected to a network. If you go for the non cellular version, you can only connect to the internet via your own router or by using the free wifi offered by coffee shops etcetera.
With the cellular one, you put a sim in and can buy data so you can connect to the net anywhere.
