Music off the Boosh

Where can I get my mits on some music that is like the stuff played by the priest Roody on The Mighty Boosh series 2? He plays some good riffs and I wanna know what real artists play this type of music. You have to have seen it to know what I mean.

I know what you mean Dan. I love the Boosh, and Latin Rock, and I think the song you're referring to is "Il Sonido Nuevo" where all the lovely ladies are dancing in the town square.

I'd recommend Santana's first three albums, but especially "Abraxas" and "III". Also, there's a very good compilation on the Soul Jazz label called "Chicano Power: Latin Rock in the USA 1968-1975".

However, I'd really recommend the FIRST Chango album (the rest are apparently soft rock!). It's heavy and groovy; has a few "average" spells I grant you, but has more than enough sublime "Latin Rock meltdown" moments to make it one of my desert Island discs! Especially on side one, vinyl junkies!

I just found out alot of the stuff is jazz fusion. So i'll be gettin some of these and thanks for your help too

I'd quibble slightly with the "Fusion" label as applied to the style of music represented in that Boosh episode - to me "Fusion" means the likes of Return To Forever, The Mahavishnu Orchestra and Weather Report amongst others - but Santana bacame a sort of jazz-latin-fusion band after those 1st 3 albums.

In which case I'd definitely recommend "Caravanserai", their 4th album. Some fantastic stuff on there!!
