I have gone over this puzzle again and again and can't find my mistake but as I cannot work out the anagram there definitely must be a mistake somewhere. Does anyone have the answer to the anagram? If so could you please let me know so that I can backtrack and see where I went wrong. Thank you.

The letters are AIOETIRDGN from which I get ORIGINATED. You have E for the sixth letter where it should be I. Middle letter of whist.

Ha ha! I know the feeling lucymac! I always enjoy doing the Finnies crossword and the anagram can be a struggle if you've made an error. Good luck!
