Hair Dye Disaster
stupidly coloured my hair at home and hate it, i have light to medium brown hair and going grey so put on a dye which i thought would cover the grey and also rest of hair, it did this but its far too dark (not black but very dark brown) it makes my fair skin look really washed out. i cannot get to hairdressers as i have little time this week, but a few years ago i did similar and bought a kit from the supermarket which had no effect, so i am wondering if anyone has done similar and what make of dye did they use to tone the colour down as this is my option to get rid of it, tia all

You won`t be able to just lighten the colour. You will probably get a shock when you look in the mirror and see the colour of your hair after you have used the dye reducer. I know I did. My hair looked Ok afterwards but I don`t have any grey so maybe the result was better for me. It might be better to just wait until you can get to a hairdresser
jesmond the safest way until you can get to the hairdressers is apply head and shoulders every day leave for 5 mins and wash off - it will tone down the colour without turning it red. OH decided once to cover 'his greys' and bought a mens colour that was too dark -he ended up looking like colonel gadaffii lol!
Head and Shoulders took the excess colour out after a few days.
