Ok well thankyou all again... His money...all of it, even the odd 60p has been paid into his bank account. It hasnt been stolen or kept....I convinced my daughter she had to do this and she agreed. So it is all done now and in there.
But can the gambling company find out who it was paid too ..without his consent.? And report me.? Even though he has it now.. ?
I have only quickly scanned this thread but I would think the gambling company would not want to be associated with this as this is possibly toxic for them.
Totally Non Legal answer before I get pounced on - I think when he tells the Gambling Site all the money is in his account ,that will be the end of it.
I totally agree Mamyalynne, not really in the interest of gambling company to advertise. Please gamble responsibily it not only ruins your life but also your wife, children and inlaws!

Well the money is in his bank now so just hope he does contact them and tell them he has it. All the TV ads on gambling are getting out of hand they should be banned.! My daughter has tried so hard to help him and stop both drink and betting but it is useless.he is even going to meetings every week! What a laugh!.if only it was funny.but sadly isn't for anyone.! Xx
you might now find a problem when the company tell him whos bank account they paid it into, and then he sues you for it cause you can't prove you gave it back, but he can prove you took it
Question Author
bednobs, Funny you should say that I had thought the same.! Anyway update news he has phoned my daughter and said it is now Pending in his account.. So has sent an email to the gambling sight to tell them so everything will be dropped...( I hope).
xxx
sadly gness tis not poppycock but the law. If he was in a rare sober moment, why would he not have made the transfer himself?
Your daughter HAS to start divorce proceedings and have him banned from the house. She MUST see a solicitor, explain the situation and get a formal separation order. Then she can apply for income support for herself and the children. I know this is very hard to do but it is the ONLY way.
He will never change , I know of too many others who have been in a similar situation.
Then it is down to the benefit agency to try to get the cash back from him for maintenance. At least your daughter will have an income .
Hard to accept but it has to be done.
I would also contact the gambling site and tell them what is happening. They do not want this type of publicity if ( or rather when) it go's to court and it comes out and quite possibly makes the newspapers. They may ban him from the site. They have a duty to help problem gamblers.

Many thanks to you all..He has told the gambling sight it was his mistake now he has the money in his bank...but has refused to give my daughter a penny. He has had the cheek to say why did she go to the Benefit office as he was going to pay all the bills still....Oh Yes sure! ... Just pray she doesnt give in to him again as we will have to go through all this again.!
^^see my post above, I really mean it she HAS to get a formal separation order and boot him out for good. yes very hard but there is no alternative.

EDDIE, I have told her that but she says she doesnt want to do that yet? Why I just dont know except if she thinks she may change her mind. Which I really hope she doesnt...what would the Legal Separation mean compared to go for divorce? would it benefit her in anyway.? Many thanks for your help x
^ A legal separation order would mean she could apply for income support for herself and children, then she would not be dependent on him for money.
