What Can I Do To Stop Adobe Illustrator Error?
3 Answers
I get the error message when try to open a saved .ai file
"The file is damaged and could not be repaired."
I have tried doing ADOBE'S workaround of "placing" the original file into a new file to no avail.
Does anyone know why this might be happening?

This also offers to fix the problem for you but I know nothing about it, so download with care! (i.e. if you're offered any 'extras', such as toolbars, ensure that you decline. Also scan the file with your anti-virus software and run Malwarebytes Anti-Malware after installing it). However the few reviews I can find for it suggests that's both safe and effective:
