do all peugeot 306 suffer from heavy steering?

i have a 1994 pug 306 1.4 xn without power steering, i hav driven many cars without power steering but none half as heavy as my 306 are they all this bad or do i hav a fault?? if so what could it be?? it has standard 13 inch steel wheels on but im soon to put 17 inch alloys on it will it make my problem worse?? cheers

are the tyre pressures correct
Jamie - I had a Peugeot 306 - about a 94/95 model without power steering back in the late nineties. Someone told me when I bought it that it would be like steering a tank and it certainly was. I had to get rid of it two months later because it put my neck out. I found it so hard to steer and trying to reverse out of my drive was a mammoth task. Within a week I'd developed a bad shoulder and a crick in my neck and within no time, it became intolerable. So I don't think its a fault on your car - sorry chick.
I've had three - great cars, but they do have heavy steering - get used to it after a while.

yes it will make the steering worse as your 17s will be wider my old car was the same ...get one with power steering alot better
