Yes, we have some of the same problems regarding welfare etc as you do. However, not to the same extent, simply because, I guess, that we don't have hordes of people from nearby counties coming easily and freely into our country.
The benefit system is designed so that all the people that are in need get some sort of benefit. It is not overly generous and it is open to abuse by some.
I don't understand the system these days. I get ESA (previously Incapacity Benefit) as I am unable to work due to mental health issues.
Prior to 31/10/2003 I worked for DWP and my last job was calculating overpayments of benefit caused by people forgetting to tell us of a change in their circumstances.
Most people were normal, caught in a trap of poverty and unemployment. I can remember only one large family of 13/14 children. But they guy had previously been working and supporting these children and was on benefit only due to ill-health.
To look at me you would see a middle aged, very overweight individual. I don't look unhealthy and am quite chatty. It is easy to pass judgement on people, there are some scum living out there, but most people are just like us.

Try again, is is right that someone gets up early in the morning sort's his / her family out before going to, having to get to their place of work due to traffic etc whilst these scroungers laugh their rses off, reaping the benefit system off the back's others? there is a way to sort this like it or not, No money, Tokens ONLY, for Food, not transferable for boozed / cigs / the horses / the bookies, but Food / rent / Heating bills only, but It seems by the response, I have it wrong, no wonder this *** hole is in a state.
TWR, I understand where you are coming from and, to an extent, I agree with you.
But the real spongers are in the minority. My dad worked for 40 years as a train driver and my mum worked in a factory when we were older. We never considered not getting a job. My brother went to university and I found work. A lot of the people who are irritating you haven't had parents that showed them that you had to work to get money to live on. That doesn't excuse their actions but it partly explains them.
The world is a mess because humans are too busy fighting each other, they should accept the situation and get on with it.
I am off to give my little boy cat his steroids for his asthma. Have a nice weekend.
