I bought narcissus(pheasant's eye)bulbs last year and planted them in a half barrel container, last year was disappointing only produced three flowers, this year however even worse just leaves and no flowers at all, where am I going wrong,I was so looking forward to their beautiful perfume and flowers.I understand they are susceptible to slugs etc, could they have eaten the bulbs?

Vakayu - sounds like possible weevils - they could've eaten your bulbs in the soil - dig just next to the bulb with a trowel to double check..
They are a hardy perennial so should flower each year.
However, some don't flower until late May - so you might still be lucky...
I wonder whether you have planted them deep enough? They do need to be deeper than you would think.
