I am thinking of getting an epilator but have never used one before. I've heard they hurt but is it really that bad? Also, can they be used anywhere? Is it better than waxing? Would appreciate any answers or feedback. Thanks, China
Its as good as waxing. It hurts, the freeze packs help to numb the area if you apply it before you epilate. You can use it anywhere.
To start with you will have to do it every couple of days cause your hair grows at different rates. I now go overmyself once a week and that just catches the little ones as they come through.
Your hair grows back practically invisible and you can use it onj really short hairs so IMO much better than waxing.
Cool, thanks. Think I will bite the bullet and get one... maybe even use a few glasses of vino as anaesthetic on the first go! I'm a bit of a wuss when it comes to pain.
you really should try it. i got one about a month ago and im so glad i did. just be prepared for the noise they make thats the thing that scared me the most. ive got really sensitive skin so the first few times i used it my skin went a bit red but compared to shaving which really really irritates my skin its sooo much better, particularly on my underarms. they hurt like hell the first time i did them but the ice pack really helped and when the hair eventually grew back and i did them again i was amazed at how easy it came out and the pain wasnt even a factor. soory i went on a bit but ive being dying to tell somebody, anybody how epilators are! i found the cheapest place to get one was amazon and then you can read the reviews of each one as well which is handy
one thing i forgot to mention, compared to waxing i would say its much better. much less messy and easier to get to the harder to reach areas if you wax at home and also in the long run its cheaper than paying for waxing at a salon
dont know about facial hair to be honest i think you can get smaller ones that are more sort of pen sized, again i would try looking on amazon or the argos website. i think if you tried to use one of normal sized one on your eyebrows you might end up taking the whole lot off!
Lol... can just imagine me getting rid of one eyebrow, not a good look at all!
Cheers for that, I have been on amazon actually looking for them, I want to know what that new one is called that I've seen advertised. Might have to do some investagative work.
If you don't mind the fact that one has been used for a few seconds before being put away forever then have a look on ebay, you'll get a practically new one for a third of the price!
A lot of people try them on a small patch and give up, but it really does get easier with use, even on the arm pits!
Wow i'd never thought of one but u guys seem convinced! What is a reasonable price to pay for one and what's the best make to get? Also, do they get rid of hair for good?
From what I've heard it's braun that are supposed to be the best one to get and they've just released a new one which I think is the 5280 X'elle. Having had a quick look, they're for sale for about 65 in John Lewis and 40 on Amazon. And they have facial attachement and shaver attachement... Doesn't say anything about whether it will eventually remove your hair for good tho.
