I'd hope that we'd be able to liberate Mosul without destroying too much, although that's probably the most naive thing I've ever posted on this site.

As to the gay lobby being apparently silent on this, ISIS is filled with disgusting and horrific acts of tyranny committed against just about everyone who isn't part of ISIS. Combating that horror is not something that the gay lobby has any more cause to speak up about than the rest of us. Sooner rather than later people will have to accept that we need to do more than just get angry about what is going on there.

It is a sickening irony that a few years back Iraq, an oil rich country marches into Kuwait with its vast array of military weapons and Sadam's Revolutionary elite Guard. Iraq had to be put back in place twice and then the coalition begins an equipping and training program. Having deemed they were up to the task we pull out of Iraq. Now they have been invaded by IS they are holding out the begging bowl to us. This is after they clearly demonstrated they had not got the will or courage to defend their own country. They allowed state of the art military hardware to fall into the hands of IS and then retreated. The only thing the UK and Europe are rich in now is Iraqui immigrants.

I think the problem that gay people have with ISIS is that there isn't a focus that can be attacked.

There was the boycott of the Dorchester hotel group after the sultanate introduced a series of new laws which specifically targeted gay people, and there was the boycotting of Russian products after Putin introduced law prohibiting the 'promotion of alternative lifestyles'...but ISIS are a whole different kettle of fish.

So, I don't think you're right when you say that gay people do not concerned with what's going on in the Middle East...it's just that when there's a specific leader or group, or company - it's easy to focus...with ISIS, there isn't.
