Service Light...on Vauxhall Corsavan

morning...does anyone know how to reset/erase the service light on a 2005 Vauxhall corsavan 1.3dcti ...the light in question is a picture of a car with a spanner though it...I have put a code reader on but comes up with no faults in ECU..I have reset the inspection light ok.but this one NO! please help..

I've heard that disconnecting the battery and touching the two leads together resets fault lights. Never had to try it and it could be a 'man in the pub' type story. If you do try it make sure you have the radio code if required.
Does the engine start ?. If it does check that there is no water in the fuel filter, if it doesn't start then it's probably the electronic immobiliser.
