Cigarette Lighter

I have a Renault Scenic on a 2000 plate,the problem is the cigarette lighter which blows a fuse every time I plug a " Multi Plug" in, now it will not even take a normal plug.

I presume it is a faulty plug so how hard is it to remove and re-fit the socket.

When the fuse blows do other things not work either ie radio, aircon or window washer pump.
Probably is a dodgy cigarette lighter socket ( contact knackered ), easy to change though.
