I know there is a list of what amount To gift to family members as a wedding present. I'm wondering what is the recommended amount for a son?

I suppose it depends on what you can afford.
I don't think the should be a recommended amount supermick as it is so very personal and also depends on state of finances etc, whatever it is one decides will and should be gratefully received.
I don't see how there can be such a list?
When 2 of my sons got married, in each case I paid for the honeymoon.
Brides father paid £10k for wedding, OH gave £10k towards flat deposit. I still think weddings dont need to cost that much....stupid waste of money.
We give £50 to nephews and nieces if that helps - a son is a different matter, and it would depend on circumstances - whether or not they already have a house, etc. Nobody's ever given me £10K as a wedding present - we paid for our own wedding.
