Are The Police Doing Anything About Purse Snatchers In Pisa

Apparently its a well known problem - a woman tried to snatch my wifes today but she fought her off.

As you say 'it is a well known problem' so if you if you go you make sure your purse /bag/ wallet is safe just like in London. Would you be stupid enough to walk down Oxford Street with a purse or wallet unprotected ??

From my experience the Pisa police don't exactly bend over backwards.

Maybe visit the Police station? Do you have a good description of the woman? It must be a nightmare for the police during the tourist season.

Sadly its common now at all major tourist sites and in big cities. We were pick pocketed in Barcelona, as was a friend when she went to Sacre Cour in Paris. London is as bad if you look like a tourist.

I am not with my wife on this trip and the remark regarding it being a known problem was from a local.
