Cholesterol Levels
6 Answers
An elderly relative was telling me her cholesterol was 26. something! I'm sure she must have misheard and got this wrong, but I just wanted to ask, is it possible to have cholesterol this high and what can I say to her to put her mind at ease? I asked her if she meant 2.6 but she said, No, she has always had high readings and is on the highest dose possible of medication for it.Is she confused about this? Thanks x

It is a bit weird my brother got tested and was fine at 4 my sister is 7.5 and has been advised to go on statins but is refusing to says she wants to try diet and exercise she is not overweight or a smoker. Mine was 9.5 and like mum I am on statins for life last tested 2 months ago and it was 4 so statins must be working. I asked if I could come off mine for a month and they agreed before I stopped it was 4 and 1 month after stopping it shot up to 10 so statins I guess are necessary to keep the arteries clear.
