Answers sound or are spelt like names of fruit, veg or herbs
e.g. "Thomas had dinner also" = Tomato ('Tom ate too')
No info re number of letters in answers
Have found 45, but am stuck on the following :
a) Before the cut
b) Abbreviated large monkey
c) Find in the night sky
d) Obvious joke
e) He moves on
f) Very romantic

i was thinking of that but as you say it should be pre ,could be something dock also
