with the latest pictures showing illegals storming lorries, how long before they start on coaches, cars etc and weapons are used.

I am surprised anybody wants to use the port of Calais anymore.

stuey; I thought the US was overrun by illegal immigrants.
the whole situation is so very sad - when you see the look of despair on those and of course the little babies - wish something good to happen without having to shoot them.

Joan, don't see any babies or women at Calais, just desperate men trying to get into Britain and then perhaps bring their offspring over to claim benefits.

Khandro, I don't think that the US is "overrun" by them; they certainly have some problems in the Southern States because of migrants from Mexico. However, we in Canada are relatively unscathed, if that is the correct term.
stuey; I thought you were in the US, well in Canada you have your fair share of Chinese don't you? - The whole world on the move it seems.
end the Schengen agreement? We're not in the Schengen agreement.
sammy I am also referring to those trying to escape on the boats. heartrending. I do know of those trying to get on to the back of the lorries and of course sad for the lorry drivers only trying to do their jobs. Glad my husband doesn't drive a lorry (if I had a hubby)
Of course we have immigration, but of a more orderly nature: they are not streaming unchecked into the country by the truck, car, bus, train, or boat load.

divebuddy; You're a jolly little chap aren't you? The trouble with hate, at which you seem to excel, is it harms the hater more than the hated.

"end the Schengen agreement? We're not in the Schengen agreement. " usual deliberately obtuse comment from jno, WAP!
Just a comment. We moved from France to UK on 11th March this year. The removal firm quoted in early February. The move took place, but when we took the guys to lunch in the local pub (an extra 'thank-you' for their efforts', they disclosed that they had made no profit because they had altered their travel plans to a more expensive crossing from Le Havre, because of the migrant situation at Calais.

A friend (source of our shipments of wine yeaaah!) who makes regular crossings in his van doing general deliveries and we give him B & B, said last time that he had gone to Dieppe rather than Calais and had had to increase his rates. So people are already avoiding it. Desperately bad for Calais and the French, you have to understand how fed-up they are (but they can't be allowed to renege on agreements).
When we went to France on holiday a month ago we saw the Calais situation ourselves. It was horrendous. Hundreds of males wandering around the roads out of town. The place where they were living was awful. Sheets of plastic draped over undergrowth, blankets acting as covers over undergrowth. It was appalling to see. The area stretched out of sight. There was a heavy presence of heavily armed police patrolling the area too.

/// The old "they weren't all Nazis" argument has a basic flaw. Even the non-nazis swore an oath of allegiance to Hitler. ///

Exactly the same where Muslims are concerned, there are 'peaceful Muslims' and there are 'extremist Muslims', but they both swear an oath of allegiance to Allah.
