Does anyone have any ideas where I could find out my birthstone? We have been looking on the internet but there seems to be differing answers. Thanks

most jewellers have a list, it comes from the british jewellers association and is therefore pretty standard

Most such lists seem to offer alternatives for certain months. Here's the list offered by The Encyclop�dia Britannica...Jan - garnet; Feb - amethyst; Mar - bloodstone; Apr - diamond; May - emerald; Jun - pearl; Jul - ruby; Aug - sardonyx; Sep - sapphire; Oct - opal; Nov - topaz; Dec - turquoise.

A specifically British reference-work has...Jan - garnet; Feb - amethyst; Mar - bloodstone or aquamarine; Apr - diamond; May - emerald or chrysoprase; Jun - pearl, moonstone or alexandrite; Jul - ruby or carnelian; Aug - sardonyx or peridot; Sep - sapphire or lapis lazuli; Oct - opal or tourmaline; Nov - topaz; Dec - turquoise or zircon.

There's a lot of agreement between lists, so I hope your birth-month is, say, January which has no alternatives and no disagreement as to which stone applies!
