Daily Food Intake
12 Answers
ok guys, I know this may be a strange question/query, but would any of you be prepared to tell me what your average food intake (per day) is?
Not interested in calories, just what your average foods consists off (eg. what have you eaten or drank today)
Obviously food intake varies day to day so just trying to get an average.
Im struggling with my weight (partly due to medication) but to be honest have lost track of what a normal person eats in a day(and what KIND of foods).
Thanks guys (and please include sweetners and other additives)
I'll pick up my answers tomorrow,
Many thanks for your help.

10am - two poached eggs with 1 slice of white bread
6pm - whole grilled sea bass with veg couscous (ate the veg out of the couscous because I've just discovered that I don't like the couscous)
9:30pm - small salad and a apple
4 coffees, milk and 2 sugars. 2 pints of water and I'm currently drinking a bottle of cider.
Some days I eat much more than that and some days I barely eat anything. I don't recognise hunger very well so I have to remind myself to eat something.

I eat quite badly Fri/Sat/Sun so today I've had:
5 cups of tea each with 1 and 1/2 spoons of half-spoon sugar
About 6 inches of pringles
BBQ meat selection with salad and buttered tiger bread
A large handful of maltesers and a packet of polos
1 G&T and several swigs of full coke.
Working weekdays I eat far more healthily although tea/drink intake is the same.

That`s healthy ummmm. 9 am - one cup of tea with sugar. A few scraps (about a dessert spoonful) of a breakfast bar that I made last night. Lunchtime (out for lunch)- 175ml glass of rose wine, battered squid with salad and aioli, hake with quite a bit of oil dressing, veg and salty chips. 3 pm crispy toffee ice cream (one scoop). Nothing since but I might have a Rivita thin with some tapenade.
Breakfast: Allbran or porridge with skimmed milk, coffee
(1 or 2 days a week, full english breakfast)
Mid-morning: Green tea, fruit item (e.g. banana, pear, apple)
Lunch: Chicken, potatoes, broccoli, another green veg, gravy, fruit salad and Actimel
Mid-afternoon: Coffee
Evening: Sardines, salad, OR noodles, mince, sauce; tea
Bedtime: decaff coffee or fruit squash or water.
No sweeteners or sugar.

I'm reducing at the moment so this is my daily intake:
2 Sesame Ryvitas with either a scraping of black pepper philly or reduced salad cream.
A couple of chicken thighs during the day alongside grazing on salad onions , radish, raw mushrooms, celery all with a sweet chilli dip often with greek yoghurt added.
Steamed veg in the evening, typically cabbage, broccolli, cauli with a douse of bisto white sauce granules with white pepper.
Copious amounts of sugar free Vimto....litres of the stuff, just as well I love it.
No booze.
This works for me and is already working after only a week, it'll slow down or I may have to up my intake to slow it down if it doesn't as I lost far too much the last time, it's a hard act to juggle...hence me re-juggling now ;)

I usually don't eat anything until around mid-afternoon (even I've been up since 4am and working from 6am). Then I'll eat a light(-ish) meal, which might be something I've made myself (such as a chilli-con-carne or a jacket potato & filling), a ready meal (such as curry & rice) or eating out (at a burger van, for instance).
I might then grab another light meal in the evening but I often don't bother. (I simply don't feel hungry).
All I've had today is a few biscuits this morning, a KFC '3 strip' meal at around 6-ish this evening and a couple of scoops of ice cream when I got home. That's often all I need (and I sometimes go a day or two without any proper meals).
Back in the 1980s I was really physically active (often running 3 half-marathon distances in a week and refereeing two or three football matches as well). Even then I often only had a just a sandwich as my sole meal each day.
However I do have to admit to getting through a massive amount of sugar in my tea (and in canned drinks, etc). (A 1Kg bag lasts me about 10 days). So that's probably where most of my calories come from!
