Too Much To Hope For

Was flicking through the listings on the television when I noticed the programme Chefs on Trial I was delighted to think at last they are gonna put them away ,but nah just another grub programme .

Who watches these programmes? There are so many food programmes on TV yet many people don't or 'can't' even cook a simple meal -and unless you are prepared to pay a fortune the standard of cooking in Pubs and Restaurants is dire. Controversial here perhaps, but France has much less cookery programmes on the TV and I've never ever had a bad meal in France either at a home or even the most humblest of restaurants (often they are they best in fact),

It is one of the more interesting food programmes insofar as it explores the business angle of being a head chef. Quite good in my opinion.

^^^ you take the whole hour to decide you don't like something? I can usually tell within 5 minutes...if it's not to my liking, "off" it goes.

It's one I quite like too - more than just the cooking, knowing how to budget and fit in with the business model which differs in each place.

I like your way of thinking weecalf, but unfortunately no such luck! Cookery programmes are ok to a point but personally I think there are too many already.
