A pop up from smartmoneytime.com has suddenly appeared this morning when I launch Google on my Ipad. It promises a £500 voucher from Tesco if I click on the link (which I haven't). I cant get rid of this and it is blocking any access to the google search bar. Any ideas on how to get rid of it?. Thanks

Try closing your google app. Double click the home button to bring up your open apps. Find the one for google, Swipe up to close the app. Then retry

Thanks Milvus. I have removed the Google App and am now using Google Chrome instead. The pesky ad has disappeared
Probably worth running a check with Malwarebytes to be on the safe side. If you don't have it, here's a link.

https://www.malwarebytes.org/antimalware/

Make sure you uncheck the box that says you'll pay for it after a free trial.

Both Norton and Macafee provide apps for Apple iOS, but not virus or malware scanners. There is one by a company called Intego but it's not really a problem that exists on iOS
It very much is a problem on the IPad. I've started seeing popup ads on pages linked from Facebook, for instance.
