I've just booked a summer break. Last time I went was about 2 years ago and when you landed at the airport you could buy your visa from the Customs there.

Can you still do this?

Paperwork I've received implies you must now obtain your tourist visa in advance from the Turkish Embassy. I have no problem with this but it will be easier if I just turn up and pay. I am a UK citizen.

you can still pay on entry (a crisp tenner per person) but paying in advance (via embassy) is also an option.
sorry, plowters link is news to me. I'm going there in may and wouldn't have given it a thought.
no, they've changed it (from April), you'll need to do it online.
Now if they were in the EU .... :+)

Although I have heard a whisper they may go back to the old way, so you can pay on arrival.
that's right slackalice- friend rung me last Sunday and had to fill some form online and I tell ye she was in a right state - trying to fill it on the ipad. she was on the nasty pills alright so you would need to chase that up big time.
