Lobbying A Reactionary Mp, A Waste Of Breath?

I've got a letter from The Campaign for dignity in dying asking me to lobby my MP on the subject of the assisted dying bill which will be debated on Sept 11.
Unfortunately, he's a conservative, with a small 'c',(despite the fact that he's also a GP he's totally against abortion in any circumstances) and he seems to me to be a man who would have been happier if he had lived in rural Ireland 50 years ago.
Would a letter to him be just a waste of a stamp?

Probably Sandy, but if you don't try, you will never know. By the way, I now have a Tory MP as well, the first in my constituency since 1906 !

Strange subject for chatterbank. Is he not entitled to an opinion? I know you liberal types can only think in terms of your view and wrong views, however voting would suggest many share his views.

Is it really liberal to think a doctor should treat someone regardless of their own beliefs?

He got less than 25% of the votes in what is supposed to be the most 'liberal' constituency in NI. But that was enough and we're stuck with him. Having said that, I don't think any of the other candidates, if they'd been elected, would be much different.
