Frustrating I know, cats poo in gardens, often other peoples. I've been on the receiving end before we had cats and accepted it as part and parcel of modern life.

We have 2 cats which no doubt do the same in other peoples gardens. Just noticed someone has deposited cat poo on the windowsill of our porch. Have cleaned it up but it has discoloured the UPVC material.

will invest in a motion activated camera to see who the culprit is.

My question is how do I go about handling it? Cant keep the cats in 24/7.

I think Boold understands but it's where they are returning it to that's the problem.

The how do they know it's my cat excuse is merely a get-out to force the burden of proof on the victim and avoid responsibility. Hardly self righteous to realise folk get to the end of their tether, need the issue sorted, but don't wish the stress of a row/confrontation with the neighbour. Where the returned gift was left was unfortunate but clearly it was meant to be noticed and understood as something causing anger/frustration.

All cat owners should either train their pets to go in a specific area of their own garden or ic that fails accept that the cat isn't that bright and should be an indoor cat. Bit unfair on older cats that suddenly get curtailed though.
Booldawg, I think the stain will fade in time, especially if you give it a good wipe over every day. Nasty thing to do imo.
If you are picking it up to carry it across the road isnt it just quicker to bin the poo?

I had an aunt (loved her to bits) but many years ago she knew a certain dog sh%t at her lamp post every day and every day she put her rubber gloves on and put it on a shovel and shovelled at their door. It went on for a while but then it stopped.

Another thing she was crucified with the music of her next door's neighbour every night - and she worked so hard in a laundry so next morning when she went to work she put her radio on at her bedroom wall between them and turned into a blast. That stopped too. Funny lady. sorry for digress from cat to dog.

Can I tell you another story my brother who was the singer of he house and dad (maybe a bit of jealousy) started to whinge and *** at the brother - my sister was telling me that he threw my sister and dad (sister was fighting for dad) any brother threw them out and my aunt came round with a poker and nearly broke the door to get them down. They were all characters in those days.
jenny, I too have shovelled up dog poo and plonked it down outside the house of the neighbour whose dog did it ! It never did it again outside my house ...
I think a lot of cat / dog owners are selfish .

I regularly see people walking their dogs along the pavement - the dog stops to have a poo on the pavement and sometimes on the actual garden/driveway of a property .

What do the owner do ? - simply carry on walking leaving the mess where it has been deposited
Nowt you can do BD I suppose, except grit your teeth and clean it up. If you ever find out who did it and confront them you'll only end up coming out looking worse as it's your (you think!) cat's poo anyway.
I am by nature a tidy person - if I were to go to the trouble of returning it, it would be a neat heap on the doorstep. Not slung at the window.
