A 9 month pregnant woman I am worried that I will be unfit at the birth of my first child. At thirty years of age I have never participated in any form of excercise and now at this late stage in pregnancy I find it hard to even stand for any time without feeling breathlessless. Will it cause problems at the birth

You really need to discuss this with your doctor. My feeling would be that at this late stage it is probably foolish to stress yourself but your dr. is in a better position to know.
I felt the same during the last few days - constantly struggling for breath - but it was not a problem at the birth - believe me you will have other things on your mind, and if you are going to be in hospital, they will react promptly if you or the baby are unwell. However, judging for the 3 messages you have posted on this site, it sounds like you are very anxious at the thought of the birth, and you should mention this to the midwife/gp and see whether they can let you see a counsellor.
