/// Mr Chishti, the Tory MP for Gillingham and Rainham, said Muslims are offended by the use of the word 'Islamic', as they do not consider the bloodthirsty group representative of their faith. ///
/// The Prime Minister - who calls the group 'ISIL' - said Muslims would 'recoil' at the phrase being used to justify the 'perversion of a great religion'. ///
Why all this kow-towing towards Islam and the Muslims?

The MPLA, for example were always referred to as that despite the fact that their popularity and commitment to liberation were doubtless seen in their eyes only. And so on.
Nor do I understand why the PM and co are - yet again - targeting the BBC over what in all honesty is a pretty trivial matter.

just got it - islamic state is offensive to muslims coz the state is nothing like islamic. islam as AOG will be the first to point out is arabic for peace
a bit like describing the IRA as Roman Catholic - oops not many english roman catholics agreed with that.
// the Prime Minister - who calls the group 'ISIL' - said Muslims would 'recoil' at the phrase being used to justify the 'perversion of a great religion'.//
isnt that a bit jesuitical ? the prime minister clearly is too busy to realise that ISIL stands for " Islamic State ( oops ) of Iraq and Lebanon "
