Yes, retrocop, Bretons and Cornish people can often converse. There are small links being establishes. In the Loire valley the very small cricket club is blossoming and has spread to the Vienne. This slow sort of way works - but there is enormous, passive resistance.

I learnt to love my French neighbours and friends, but there are enormous gaps - and we are talking here about neighbouring cultures! Hoping for our first French visitors to arrive soon.

i'm not sure why expecting immigrants to use the country's official language is considered to be "culturally precious" - the british "bend over backwards" approach to providing interpreting services costs schools millions from their budgets, that could be used to better services elsewhere.
