Did You Find Corrie Weird Tonight?

It felt strange hearing them organising Deirdre's birthday party. I wonder how difficult it would be for them to act cheerful about it knowing Deirdre (Ann Kirkbride) is no longer with us.

I've seen friends colleagues hopefully unconsciously acting out behaviour which is pure soap. Maybe time it's time we pensioner them off and returned to intelligent entertainment. Sorry if I'm ranting.
Hi Chrissa, if this is how Anne Kirkbride would have wanted it then that's ok but personally I would have preferred that they mentioned it just after she passed away and more low key instead of talking about having a party and buying her presents. They even had the young actress who plays Amy acting like 'Deirdre' was still there.I didn't enjoy watching it at all. x
I thought it was handled very well and I know it was difficult for the cast because I read an interview by William Roache, but they all wanted to do it for her. I think when the news comes out that she is dead, they will celebrate her life in the pub where they were going to hold her birthday party. A fitting tribute imo and I think it will be very moving.
