My daughter and others
Ref stylinsams 'Lucky' post, Would anyone mind if I describe my daughter, and others that go to her day centre?,
The pont i'm trying to make, is there's not a day goes by, when I don't think how lucky we are, and no matter how hard life is, there's always someone worse off.

mine came 5 years ago when my wife was diagnosed with cancer,we got through that, then 3 years ago my youngest son was involved in a bad accident at work, when a trench collapsed trapping him, shattering his hip and breaking his back in 3 places, his hip was repaired his back had metal plates inserted,he is now walking about, and I thank god every day at being so lucky, and I enjoy my life more, itmakes you realise how precious life is,
enjoy it while we can,we are lucky, and yes there are always people worse off,no matter how bad our problems.
Hi raysparx, thanks for you post, reading it, and i'm glad you wrote it, I hope others do too, makes me realise just how lucky I am, i'm really glad you, your wife, and your son have come through all that,
My daughter, apart from being mentally handicapped, is in full physical health, and as she doesn't know there's anything wrong, she's a very happy child, (21), smiling and laughing most of the time,
Its when we take her to the day centre, we see virtually the whole range of handicaps, i'll only describe two here, if you don't mind,
There is one chap, and they all have a mental handicap of one sort or another, whose whole head is a giant birthmark, he makes the Elephant man look normal, and the other, is Autistic, but he's so violent, that he has to be kept in a room by himself, and only two carers who he tolerates are allowed in.
its these things, along with stories like yours, that makes you reflect on the life you have, and count your blessings.
Thanks for that insight lonnie,Your daughter sound a lovely person, pity she can't be judged on that isnt it?
and you know lonnie I am convinced that these children are only given to special people such as yourself that can handle the situation they are put into,if I am making sense,so in that respect the love you get from her is very special,so you are a very privileged person, take care, and love to your daughter,Ray
