Fire Insurance
3 Answers
A man and his wife moved from London to Cork. The wife had a specially constructed wooden leg and the annual cost of insurance in Britain was £450.00 a year
When they had settled in Cork they went to an Insurance Broker to insure the wooden leg. The broker looked it up on the computer and said to the couple the annual cost will be £39.00.
The husband asked why it was so much cheaper in Ireland to insure the wooden leg that had cost him £450.00 in Britain.
The agent turned his computer screen to the couple which read:
*Annual charge for any individual wooden structure with a sprinkler system over it: £39.00.
I always did find the Irish logic far superior to most.
