Double Glazing Moisture
3 Answers
Hi
We have recently bought our first house which has double glazing. A couple of the windows appear to have moisture in between the glass panels and the seels on the inside corners are going black.
Can anyone tell me what we need to do to fix this?
Thanks

The trick is to know how to get the beading off - on PVC windows it can be pried off at the joint away from the glass using a blade of some sort - quite flexible at temperatures above 15 degrees. Sealed units can be ordered direct - K-glass is by far the best, a type that retains heat better than the ordinary. You would need to get the measurements right and have the knack of being careful and methodical, that's all. You can then work in priorities bit by bit. The glass units themselves are not terribly expensive. Check out your yellow pages for glass merchants, best look for the actual manufacturer of sealed units rather than pay 20-50% more to a middleman such as a glazier. But there will be those who will try to put you off with extraordinary tales of what might come to pass. Start with the smallest piece of glass to learn - if they can do it so can you.
