We usually talk, disparagingly, of "job creation schemes" in entirely figurative terms - they are always 'proposals' and usually get nipped in the bud. This one is real...
"Governor of Kentucky Steve Beshear has spoken in defence of the decision, claiming it does not violate the separation of church and state.
“Bringing new jobs to Kentucky is my top priority, and with the estimated 900 jobs this project will create, I am happy about the economic impact this project will have on the Northern Kentucky region,” he said."
I didn't immediately understand the bit about "$54.5m tax-break" since their churches are supposed to be tax exempt. Evidently, this is a private-enterprise theme-park operation and they are getting a leg-up, at the tax-payer's expense, in the name of promoting religion.
I like the pteranodon/pterodactyl, or whatever that sculpted animal is meant to be. I suppose the smart-alec kids are supposed to protest that they could fly and should not have drowned and the smart-alec reply will come back that they could not fly for 40 days, continuously and died for want of fresh water and/or food. Although what dinosaurs (flying and not) had done to the very god who - supposedly - created them, is anyone's guess. (Explaining why the sea-living dinosaurs died too, will be fun to watch them attempt).
