can anyone remember a tv play quite a few years ago about a man setting out to walk from Lands End to John O Groats? I would love to get a dvd of it

Have now discovered that the play was on BBC tv in 1989 and was called First and Last I am now looking for a dvd of it can anyone help?

I remember seeing this, it starred Joss Ackland.

I remember a scene where he meets a young child at the seaside and they both sit on a bench eating an ice cream and talking.

A search on the web shows other people looking for it on DVD, including someone on Answerbank in 2008.

It seems some people HAVE put it on DVD to be sold in the past but not sure if anyone is still doing it.

I have had a look on YouTube and I cant see it on there, even a short section of it.

I found this little bit of trivia about it that seems rather sad:

"I remember that it had originally been filmed with Ray McAnally in the main part but he sadly died just before completion. They basically started again from scratch with Joss Ackland but arranged a special showing of the original for Ray's family"

To all that helped me trace a dvd of First and Last. I have just finished watching it and it was just as good as I remember from all those years ago. I thoroughly recommend sojo to anyone that needs to obtain copies of old tv programmes, excellent service and the picture quality of the dvd is first class.
