Aldi

Bought strawberries, potatoes, carrots from Aldi on Wednesday, I didn't bother with the cauli because it looked unappetizing.
Some of the strawberries were furry yesterday and the potatoes are already sprouting.
I think I'll avoid the fresh fruit and veg next time. Anyone else experienced this?

I think there are plenty of things that "don't matter" so much. Mince for example - aldi's is british too and tastes exactly the same in a chilli as waitrose which is nearly double the price, chicken likewise. However, there are things i would only buy branded too
Togo/Ivor - I was thinking Selfridges food hall!! I love Aldi & Lidl, I have converted my ma (very old school and stuck in her ways) to try Aldi's washing up liquid and she says its better than Fairy. I've decided to try the dishwasher tablets now. I love all of Aldi's food, including biscuits, tinned goods, packet soups, and their chocolate is to die for. Every Xmas, I treat myself to a bottle of Ballycastle, which is a third of the price of Baileys and just as good. I've heard that Lidl do their own as well which is excellent.
We don't have a local Aldi but we do a Lidl...there bakery is so superior to all other supermarkets and their lovely fresh rolls just 15p each compared to 30p elsewhere.
I can shop in Lidl for £s less that the other supermarkets. A few £s of Tesco tokens once in a while are no draw compared to regular lower prices all round.

The trouble with Aldi is that they are only allowed to make one mistake to become a trashy shop. IF you bought a dodgy pack of mince in Waitrose it would be the warehouses fault perhaps, or maybe you had kept it in the fridge too long. Buy a dodgy pack of mince or hairy cucumber from Aldi and immediately 'you get what you pay for'. I buy lots of luxury things at Aldi - artisan cheese, gravlax, smoked salmon and its as good if not better than M&S or Sainsbury's
