The best of my knowledge, and according to my little book, Ephedrine tablets are restricted to prescription only medicines, and therefore can't be bought over the counter at your chemist. (However, this may have changed recently so apologies if it's out of date info).

Depending what you are using it for, it is available over the counter in other preparations.

Like GeordiePengy wrote they are only available on the black market.

They have been used by body builders for years as an effective way to lose fat.

People do become tolerate to them and need to take more and more to get the same effect.

One of the reasons they were banned was the they were being used in high does on the club scene and people were suffering heart attacks.
