Preventing aol.com spam downloads.
2 Answers
Thanks to j2buttonsw for his answer which works well. Just one more question. Each time I check my mail, Outlook receives a list of messages from the server and then downloads the legitimate ones. If, say, 30 or so messages are not downloaded (because they are spam) on one day, does the server include them again in the next days list, together with any new spam messages that are trying to get through. If this is the case, within a few weeks there could be upwards of 500 messages in the list that the sever sends to me each time I log on to my mailbox. Sooner or later I would have to download them just to get back to a reasonable timescale for trying to receive messages. Is there any way I can tell the server to delete non-downloaded messages?

I then logged off, logged back on again and checked for messages. Outlook still checked through a list of 200 messages before telling me again that there were no new messages. I've now briefly opened up to aol.com users and downloaded the 200 messages to get rid of them.
