I have just heard a couple being interviewed by John Humphries on the Today Program, who met on Blind Date and got married, . What a wonderful story. They said that she attended their wedding and kept in touch for many years afterwards.

I recommend that anyone who missed the interview, to catch up on the iplayer.

remember that wedding well..she got a new hat !!
I have always thought that "arranged marriages" either social or religious did as well as marriages born out of "love."

They do, don't they?

MM...I have no recall of the wedding at all, although I expect it is available on youtube somewhere !

The young son of a colleague of mine in BT won on Blind Date and he went on holiday with the girl. The romance went on for a month or two but eventually foundered as they lived so far apart. They always said that it tremendous fun and Cilla was really nice to them.

Contrast that with another colleague and his family, who won Telly Addicts. He never had a good word to say about Noel Edmonds. On one of the filming sessions, my friend had brought along a autograph book, from a neighbour, in the hope that Edmonds would sign it for them, but he refused point blank, quite nastily apparently. He only smiled when the red light came on the camera, signifying that filming was going on.

Baz...I think it was the second of the links that I heard being interviewed this morning, Alex and Sue Tatham.
Over the years I have read, from time to time, that she's not a very nice person to people she considers of no consequence or when she's not in front of a camera.

I found this fascinating thread that spans a few years, written by airline cabin and flight deck crews, talking about the famous and not so famous people who've been a passenger on their flights.

I found it fascinating, politicians, royalty, film stars, actors, groups and bands, dead and alive, are all in here and almost 100% of the time the personalty assessments agree. If you want a giggle, have a read.

There's a line from a Woody Allen film, Manhattan if I remember correctly, that goes something like ::

" Gossip, its the new pornography"
That surprised me as well Bazile. But when I think about it ... hmmmm!
I've always thought Alan Rickman was a bit camp - anyone remember his performance in Robin Hood (the Kevin Costner version)?
Prudie apparently he's just recently got married after a 50-year long relationship.

I love the Boris Becker anecdote on my link:

BB: Hello, I do not vish to be disturbed, I vill tell you when I vish to be fed, and I vill NOT sign any autographs!

Chief Steward (deadpan): Certainly Sir ... and your name is?
I remember Alex & Sue on Blind Date. Can't believe they've been married 25 years!
i remember this and the awful hat lol
